Total fee for 10 days, including lessons and half board, costs 300 Euros. Deadline is the 30th of June 2009. Accepted are students and graduates of all levels. No age limit.
Strict priority will be kept. Number of participants limited to 80.

1st OPERA AND LIED COMPETITION
"Doumbia International Music Seminars" and "The Opera Friends" of Thessaloniki organize the 1st Opera-Lied competition on 31/7/09 and 1/8/09 (in memory of Solon Michaelides, 30 years of his death).
. The competition's purpose is to promote a) young singers and b) the art of singing.
. The competition takes place in Vlasti, prefecture of Kozani, in Greece.
. Eligible are: female singers, age limit 30, and men 32.
. Deadline is the 30th of June. Applications must include the program, a photocopy of the candidate's I.D., two photos and the receipt of the participation fee. Wrong program leads to immediate disqualification.

PROGRAM - First round:
. An aria by W.A.Mozart
. An aria of the candidate's choice
. A Lied by F.Schubert, J.Brahms or R. Schumann
. A lied by a Greek composer
PROGRAM - Second round (final):
. Two arias of the candidate's choice: in two different (original) languages from the Italian, German or French repertory.
. A Lied by F.Schubert, J.Brahms, R.Schumann, R.Strauss, G. Mahler or H. Wolf.
. A composition by Solon Michaelides.
S.Michaelides' compositions can be obtained from "The Opera Friends", starting on June 1st 2009. All works must be sung by memory. Copies must be available for the jury. The contestants must be in Vlasti in time. They can have a short rehearsal in the hall, on July 30th.
1st prize: One performance with the orchestra "Sinfonietta Sofia", in Bulgaria.
2nd prize: 500 Euros.
3rd prize: 300 Euros.
The jury will include five well renowned artists. Jury member who has had a pupil-participant in the last two years will be excluded from voting. Detailed program (order) will be announced by the 20th of July.
