The Baritones 'do it' better!!!

The new generation of baritones prove that opera singers could be cool and have beautiful voice, style, acting skills and sex appeal, as well:


ILDEBRANDO D' ARCANGELO (bass-baritone)

Born in Pescara, D’Arcangelo won the Toti dal Monte International Competition in 1989 and 1991, thereafter making his debut in Così fan tutte and Don Giovanni.
Hailed by critics for his magnificent voice and stage presence, he has established himself as one of the most exciting singers of his generation, he is famed in particular for his portrayals of Mozart's roles.

SIMON KEENLYSIDE (baritone)The English baritone, Simon Keenlyside, studied zoology at Cambridge and singing with John Cameron at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester. He made his operatic debut at the Hamburg State Opera as Count Almaviva (Le Nozze di Figaro).
In 1995 Simon Keenlyside received the Singer of the Year Award both from the Critics Circle and the Royal Philharmonic Society.
He is an acting singer renowned for bringing an intense physicality to his opera roles, could probably come up with a similar list if pressed.

NATHAN GUNN (baritone)
Nathan Gunn Nathan Gunn is recognized as one of America's most exciting young baritones. He has appeared in many of world's most prestigious opera houses including the Metropolitan Opera, San Francisco Opera, Lyric Opera of Chicago etc.
He is the winner of the 1994 Metropolitan Opera National Council Competition, the 1998 ARIA award, and a 1997 Tucker Foundation Career Grant.
He received his Bachelor's Degree in Music from the University of Illinois, where he studied with Professor Emeritus William Miller and Professor John Wustman.

LUDOVIC TEZIER (baritone)
The French baritone Ludovic Tezier, studied at the Lyric School of the Opera de Paris, he joined the Lucerne Company and then the Opera of Lyon. His Enrico in the famous production of Lucie de Lammermoor (Lyon 2002) made him noticed and soon he received invitations by all famous Opera Houses.
